SurfaceBox [55] provides a surface-mounted position for one compatible LightSwitch or Outlet device. It is useful where the wall construction or cable route calls for an exposed mounting box. The selected device, finish and cable entry are planned together for a neat installation.

A neat way to surface-mount one device.
For a single European [55] wall device.
SurfaceBox [55] provides a mounting box for a compatible single LightSwitch or Outlet when the wall or wiring is unsuitable for recessed installation. The switch or outlet is selected separately.
- Dimensions: 82.6 × 82.6 × 46.8 mm; polycarbonate enclosure, 63.5 g.
- For indoor use, IP20. Follow the environment limits of the installed device.
- Not a shared multi-seat frame or a mounting box for North American [120] switches.
Bring the cable in from the suitable side.
Several routes into the box.
Rear entries and prepared side recesses support the planned cable route. The box can be rotated to suit the entry direction while keeping the fitted device correctly oriented.
Choose the entry and mounting position with the installer. Maintain space for terminations and avoid trapped or sharply bent cables.
Secure the box. Then fit the device.
Separate fixings for the surface and device.
Fasten the box using fixings suitable for the wall material, then secure the compatible device with the four supplied metric screws.
Wall fasteners are not included. Inch-thread screws are not compatible with the box’s device fixings. The LightSwitch or Outlet assembly is purchased separately.
White is the current orderable finish.
A coordinated range, with availability kept clear.
Ajax illustrates an eight-colour palette for the range. Its current source note states that only White can be ordered; the other colours are planned for future releases.
Choose therefore offers White only. The coloured installations above illustrate the manufacturer’s range, not additional finishes available to order today.
