Motion detection with a second check. Wired.
Superior MotionProtect Plus Fibra combines a PIR sensor with K-band microwave verification. When infrared detection identifies movement, the additional sensor helps distinguish a moving person from thermal interference. Three sensitivity levels adapt detection to the room, while a four-core Fibra cable supplies power and carries events to a compatible Ajax hub.

A second sensor checks the motion.

K-band verifies the PIR alarm
After the PIR sensor detects movement, the Plus model scans the room with its K-band microwave sensor. This additional check helps reject thermal interference from air flows, heated curtains, fans and similar sources before reporting an alarm.
Both sensors work together on motion detection. This verification does not produce photographs or video and does not add glass-break detection.
Distinguish movement from thermal interference.

SmartDetect reads the moving heat pattern
The PIR sensor measures changes in infrared radiation through the Fresnel lens. SmartDetect considers the thermal spot size, movement speed and radiation intensity to recognise a moving person and filter interference. Select one of three sensitivity levels and test the furnished room.
Position the detector for the room.
Look across the likely entry path
Install at 2.4 m on a vertical surface or in a corner, with the lens facing across the expected movement. The horizontal detection angle is 88.5° and the stated range is up to 12 m. Furniture, plants and glass must not obstruct the view.
For INCERT compliance the range is up to 10 m at High sensitivity. Perform the Detection Zone Test at the final location.
Match sensitivity to the animal and layout
Pet immunity depends on correct mounting, sensitivity and a clear view. High sensitivity is intended for cats up to 25 cm tall; Normal for small dogs up to 35 cm; Low for animals up to 50 cm and 20 kg.
Keep furniture that pets can climb away from the lens. An animal close to the sensor or raised to human height can trigger an alarm.
Allow for heat, moisture and later changes
Use indoors only, within −10 to +40 °C and up to 75% humidity. Avoid direct sunlight, heaters and moving objects close to the detector. Test again if furnishings or likely movement paths change.
IP50 and IK04 are enclosure ratings; they do not make the device suitable for outdoor installation.
A wired connection to the whole system.
Fibra carries power and events
A four-core Fibra cable connects the detector to a compatible wired Ajax hub. Two-way communication, encrypted data and device authentication help protect the connection. The detector has no camera and requires the hub to manage the system.
Up to 2,000 m on a beam with U/UTP cat.5 4 × 2 × 0.51 mm (24 AWG) copper cable, subject to the complete cable and load calculation. Check the selected hub, topology and firmware; a ring has different limits.
Plan power for the complete Fibra line.
Powered through the four-core cable
The detector receives power from a compatible Fibra system at 5–30 V DC, with 24 V DC nominal. It has no replaceable detector battery; backup depends on the hub and any powered modules in the route.
The current specification lists up to 187 mW and 7.8 mA at nominal voltage. Use the Fibra power calculator for the exact detector, cable route and full line load.
Protection that also checks itself.
Report enclosure or mounting interference
Secure the specified mounting points and holding screw so the tamper can respond to enclosure opening or removal. Test the events after final fixing.
Hardware views above show the exact tamper arrangement; the number and position of switches depend on the model.
Notice a lost connection
The hub regularly exchanges data with the detector and reports a fault or lost connection with the device and room identified.
A 36-second detection example requires 12-second polling and three missed packets. Other settings change this time. Connection supervision does not guarantee uninterrupted alarm delivery.
Check the device identity
Encrypted communication and device authentication help protect event data and reject a substituted device. Professional monitoring, when required, is arranged with a monitoring provider.
These detectors have no camera. Photo or video verification needs separate compatible equipment.
Wire, identify and test the detector.

Connect the removable terminal board
An accredited Ajax partner plans the cable and isolates external power and the hub backup battery before wiring. SmartBracket gives access to the removable terminal board without opening the detector enclosure. Secure the specified fixing points and holding screw.
