Superior DoorProtect G3 Jeweller combines opening, shock and tilt detection with magnetic masking detection. The magnetometer checks for attempts to substitute the normal field, using a reference calibrated at the installation site. Battery power and wireless communication simplify the signal connection, while Grade 3 performance depends on the compatible hub, every connected device and the complete installation.

Know what changed at the entrance.
One magnet, either side
Two reed switches allow the magnet to sit on either side of the detector. When the magnet moves away, the contact changes state and the system receives an opening event.
Use one magnet on one side only. Two magnets installed at the same time can prevent correct opening detection. Contact-chatter filtering ignores brief vibrations lasting up to 0.15 seconds.
Check for magnetic interference.
Calibrate at the installation site
The magnetometer compares the current field with its stored reference. Calibrate with the opening closed after installation and again whenever the detector is moved.
Opening detection must stay enabled. Choose masking detection always or only while armed according to the security design. Do not use High sensitivity near a door closer.
Test the full movement
A magnet sliding along the detector for a long time can cause unwanted masking events. Check the full opening and closing travel and agree a compliant arrangement with the installer.
Disabling magnetic masking removes that protection. Do not continue to describe it as active or assume the system retains the required grade.
Fit the real door or window.
On metal
Keep the closed-position gap between detector and magnet at 5 mm or less. Follow the direction-specific working-distance table and test at the final position.
Keep more than 5 cm from a third-party electromagnet, such as an electromagnetic lock. Confirm detection after final fixing.
On wood or plastic
Keep the closed-position gap at 1 cm or less and maintain more than 5 cm from a third-party electromagnet. One full-size magnet is supplied.
Designed for indoor use. The enclosure is IP30 / IK04; it is not an outdoor weatherproof detector.
Include a nearby wired contact.
A nearby normally closed contact
Connect a supported wired NC detector no more than 1 m from this device, enable the external input in the app, and test its events.
The opening detector does not power the additional device. Supply any required power separately; do not increase the connecting cable beyond the specified length.
Hear an entrance while the system is disarmed.
Chime through another Ajax device
Use a supported indoor or outdoor Ajax siren, or a supported keypad with a buzzer, to announce an opening while the system is disarmed. Configure different sounds for entrances or security groups.
The compatible sounder is separate equipment. The opening detector itself does not contain a doorbell speaker.
Two radio protocols, different jobs.
Superior Jeweller carries events
Alarms, events and commands travel over encrypted two-way radio communication. The stated range is up to 3,000 m in open space, depending on the hub and installation.
Requires a compatible hub with OS Malevich 2.35 or later. Radio-region matching, signal strength and system settings still need checking.
Wings delivers firmware updates
Wings handles firmware updates for this detector, with delivery checks and retransmission if needed. Its stated range is up to 2,000 m in open space.
This device has no camera and does not take alarm photos. Check both Jeweller and Wings signal strength; a working event link does not establish the update-link coverage.
Grade 3 starts with the complete system.
Keep the radio protection consistent
Superior Jeweller provides encrypted communication and enhanced frequency hopping when every connected wireless device supports it. Adding a regular Jeweller device changes the system’s radio behaviour and limits the system to Grade 2.
Grade 3 is not guaranteed by buying one G3 device. An accredited Ajax partner must check the hub, every connected device, radio settings, installation and monitoring requirements together. Check the enhanced-hopping status in the app.
Plan for years of operation and timely replacement.
Up to 4 years on one CR123A
A pre-installed replaceable lithium battery powers the detector. Low-battery notifications let the owner arrange replacement before the device stops operating. Test the device again after battery service.
Battery life depends on events, polling, signal conditions and enabled functions. Treat the stated duration as a calculated maximum, not a maintenance interval.
Protection that also checks itself.
Notice removal
Tamper supervision reports attempts to detach the device from its mounting panel or surface. Secure the panel and holding screws so the tamper can operate correctly.
Detect interference
The system monitors radio interference and can report jamming. Enhanced frequency hopping requires compatible Superior Jeweller equipment throughout the system; device authentication also helps reject a substituted device.
Detect a lost link
Regular exchanges supervise connected equipment. The 36-second communication-loss example uses a 12-second polling interval and three missed packets.
The detection time changes with the configured polling interval and missed-packet threshold. Verify the settings with the installer and monitoring provider.
Mount it, connect it and test the entrance.
Secure the detector and magnet
Use SmartBracket and the specified fasteners, including the tamper fixing point and holding screws. Align the chosen magnet and test the opening after final fixing.
Adhesive tape is for temporary positioning. Use the exact manual’s fastening procedure before relying on tamper protection.
