ReX 2.
Wireless radio signal range extender with support for photo verification and Ethernet connection

Standards and certifications
ReX 2 Jeweller · RX2.Y.J. Manufacturer-listed marks; regional and installation conditions apply.
Extend the reach. Keep the picture.
ReX 2 Jeweller extends communication for compatible Ajax devices, including supported photo-verification detectors. Jeweller carries events and commands, Wings carries photos, and Ethernet offers an additional route to a compatible hub on the same network. The system stays in one app as coverage reaches further into the property.

Power adjustment
- 1When using five radio signal range extenders in the system. The number of range extenders a system can support and their maximum сommunication range with a hub depend on the hub model.
- 2Photo modes depend on the connected detector and user permissions. Delivery time depends on resolution, radio quality and the hub’s internet link.

Connect the more difficult parts of the site.

Extend the device network
ReX 2 relays communication for assigned compatible Ajax devices, including supported photo-verification detectors.
Place devices by measured signal quality. Extenders increase coverage, not the hub’s total device capacity.
Keep visual alarm verification within reach.

Wings carries detector photos
Compatible MotionCam detectors send their pictures through ReX 2 to the hub. The detector model and permissions determine whether photos are available by alarm, request or other supported triggers.
The specification lists 18 seconds via Wings and 10 seconds via Ethernet under its stated conditions. Resolution, signal quality, detector settings and the hub’s internet connection affect delivery; these are not universal response times.
A secure link to your system.
Jeweller and Wings
Jeweller carries alarms, events and commands; Wings carries photo data from supported detectors. Both radio protocols use encrypted two-way communication with the compatible hub.
Up to 1,700 m in open space. Walls, metal and other obstacles reduce usable coverage. Check signal strength at the installation position and use equipment for the same radio-frequency region.
Use cable where radio cannot provide the route.
Requires OS Malevich 2.13 or later and a compatible hub. ReX 2 and the hub must be on the same network; this is not a direct internet connection to a separate remote system.

Through metal partitions
An Ethernet link can connect ReX 2 to the hub when metal structures obstruct the radio path.
Plan the whole system, not just the extender.
Direct hub connection and assigned devices
Up to five range extenders can be used within a compatible hub’s limits. ReX 2 connects directly to the hub and cannot be chained through another extender.
A device is assigned to one extender and does not automatically switch to another extender or the hub. Device capacity remains hub-dependent; for example, the manual lists 99 connected devices with Hub 2 and 199 with Hub 2 Plus.
Keep a local alarm response available.
An assigned group of devices
If all paths to the hub are lost, ReX 2 can receive an alarm from an assigned detector and activate a connected siren.
This local response is not a replacement for the hub or its internet connection.
Backup time depends on the connection.
Mains power with a rechargeable backup
ReX 2 uses 110–240 V AC and a built-in rechargeable battery. The European specification gives up to 38 hours of backup with Ethernet disabled, or up to 12 hours with Ethernet enabled.
These are conditional maximums. Keep the network equipment powered too if Ethernet is required during an outage. Compatible alternative 6 V and 12–24 V power-supply units are sold separately. Indoor use: −10°C to +40°C, IP30, IK06.
Check the health of every connection.
Tamper and communication monitoring
The system reports attempts to remove the extender, missing communication and power changes. Device authentication and encryption protect exchanged data.
Detection time depends on the polling configuration. Name the extender and room clearly so a maintenance event can be traced.
Keep the extender in step with the system.

OS Malevich updates
The extender receives compatible updates while the system is disarmed. Its software must match the hub for supported functions to work.
Maintain stable external power, a working extender-to-hub link and the hub’s internet connection during an update.
Set up for the way the site works.

Connect
Scan the device QR code in the Ajax app, then assign a recognisable name and room. Check compatibility with the hub and any range extender before installation.
