Detect an approach before entry.
An outdoor detection area
Two infrared sensors watch the approach to the property. Set detection distance from 3 to 15 m on the detector, with the likely intrusion route crossing its view.
Mount 0.8–1.3 m above ground. For pet immunity, the manual specifies 1 m and correct setup for animals up to 80 cm tall.
Separate an intruder from outdoor movement.
Compare both sensor signals
LISA compares the shape of the signals received from the two infrared sensors. Matching movement patterns help distinguish a person from outdoor interference.
Protection when someone tries to block the view.
Anti-masking and tamper
The anti-masking system detects obstacles, covering or paint in front of the lenses. It calibrates when the detector is fitted to SmartBracket and can stay active while the intrusion system is disarmed.
Secure the mounting panel and test masking and tamper events. Detection timing varies with the masking method; keep the area clear during calibration.
Plan for rain, snow and changing temperatures.
Protect the anti-masking sensors
Use Hood when the detector is exposed to snow or precipitation. Under suitable cover, installation without Hood can be appropriate.
Battery operation or an external supply.
Two replaceable CR123A batteries
The preinstalled batteries support up to five years under the manufacturer’s stated settings. Low-battery notifications in the app allow maintenance to be planned.
Actual operating life depends on polling, temperature, alarms and radio conditions.

Jeweller communication
Jeweller provides two-way radio communication with a compatible Ajax hub or range extender. Encryption and device authentication help protect the exchange of alarms, commands and status.

Alarms, masking and maintenance
Name the detector for the entrance or area it protects. The Ajax app reports detector events, tamper, masking, battery and communication information so the affected device can be identified.
Lost-connection timing depends on polling settings. A qualified installer should assess terrain, vegetation and likely intrusion routes.
