FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke/CO) UL.
Wireless combined heat, smoke, and CO detector with replaceable batteries

Standards and certifications
FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke/CO) UL Jeweller · FP2.RBHSC.J-000-NA.UL. Manufacturer-listed marks; regional and installation conditions apply.
Three sensing functions. One local alarm.
FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke/CO) UL Jeweller combines optical smoke detection, heat sensing and a chemical carbon monoxide sensor. Its siren gives a local warning, and a compatible hub adds notifications and interconnected alarms. The UL version uses replaceable batteries and its own alarm thresholds.

Protection in real places.

Look inside the smoke chamber.

A protected optical path
A dual-spectrum optical sensor measures particles in the air. The chamber’s design limits dust and insect ingress, helping keep the optical path clear.
Respond to a high temperature.

The UL heat threshold
Two thermistors monitor temperature outside the enclosure. For these UL versions, Ajax specifies a high-temperature alarm above +58 °C (135 °F).
The sensor combination determines the protection: the Heat version has no smoke sensor or carbon monoxide sensor.
Measure carbon monoxide exposure.

Concentration and time both matter
The chemical CO sensor evaluates exposure over time. The UL alarm windows are 60–240 minutes at 70 ppm, 10–50 minutes at 150 ppm, and 4–15 minutes at 400 ppm.
The CO sensor has a 10-year service life. It detects carbon monoxide, not methane or other fuel gases. Treat an alarm according to the emergency instructions; the gas cloud in the illustration is a visualisation.
Inside the detector.

Built around its sensing functions
The enclosure brings together the sensing elements, siren and status LEDs. The front panel contains the Test/Mute control; SmartBracket provides mounting and the tamper interface.
Replace the batteries. Keep protection ready.

Two replaceable CR123A batteries
The UL version uses two pre-installed CR123A batteries, rated for up to 5 years of operation. Replace the batteries when the low-battery warning appears and test the detector afterwards.
Battery life depends on settings, radio conditions and alarm use. Replacing the batteries does not extend the detector’s service life.
A warning in the room.

Local sound and status LEDs
The built-in siren is rated at 85 dB at 3 m. Sound and LED patterns identify alarms, faults and low batteries. Use the indication table in the manual to distinguish the events.
Local detection and sound can operate without a hub. Ajax app notifications and remote control require a compatible connected hub.
Pass the alarm through the hub.

Interconnected alarms within 20 seconds
With interconnection enabled, a compatible Ajax hub can activate the other fire detectors in the system when one reports an alarm. Ajax specifies activation within one polling interval, no later than 20 seconds.
For UL-certified FireProtect 2 detectors, interconnection works only with a hub. Direct detector-to-detector fallback interconnection is not supported. Configure and test the complete alarm path.
Plan a reliable radio connection.

Reach the installation point
Jeweller provides encrypted two-way communication, device authentication and frequency hopping. The stated radio range is up to 1,700 m in open space; walls and interference reduce it. A compatible ReX or ReX 2 can help extend the hub radio path.
The number of supported range extenders depends on the hub. Check signal strength at every final mounting position; a building diagram is not a coverage guarantee.
See the device and its status.

One view for configured monitoring
A connected hub provides the app with detector alarms, low-battery reports, tamper events and communication faults. A configured PRO Desktop monitoring workflow can give an operator the event history and device states.
Communication-loss timing depends on the polling settings. Monitoring services and notification recipients must be configured separately.
Add visual context to an alarm.

An optional photo scenario
With a compatible hub and a separate MotionCam (PhOD), a configured fire alarm can trigger photographs. Set the scenario and photo permissions in advance. FireProtect 2 has no built-in camera.
Separate automation devices can also control suitable circuits or door hardware as part of a professionally designed response. Scenarios do not replace the required alarm response.
Prepare it for the actual room.

Mount and align
Choose a position using the instructions for this exact sensor combination, then secure SmartBracket and align the detector. Its adjustment allows 90° rotation after mounting.
Indoor use: 0 to +38 °C, humidity up to 80%, IP20. Application photographs illustrate possible rooms; the environmental limits and placement requirements still apply.
Test and maintain the detector.

Test/Mute on the front panel
Use the front panel to run the self-test and check the sound and light indications. Testing is also available in the Ajax app when connected to a compatible hub. Follow the manual’s testing schedule and repeat the test after battery replacement.
Act on low-battery, fault and end-of-life warnings. Follow the servicing and replacement instructions for the exact model; silencing an alarm does not remove its cause.
