Five versions. Specific functions.
Choose Smoke or Heat for one sensing type, Heat/Smoke for both, or Smoke/Sounder and Heat/Sounder to include an alarm sounder.
All five are addressable devices for a compatible EN54 fire system. None detects carbon monoxide. Heat/Smoke does not include a sounder. The family overview shows all capabilities; the selector and specifications identify the exact version.
Recognise the signs of fire.

For smoke-equipped versions
A dual-spectrum optical sensor uses blue and infrared light to assess particles inside the patented smoke chamber. HazeFlow 2 evaluates the signal to help distinguish smoke from common interference.
Applies to Smoke, Smoke/Sounder and Heat/Smoke. The chamber resists dust and insects; placement and testing still follow the selected model’s manual.
Set the right heat response.
Mode follows the model and location
Heat and Heat/Sounder offer A1, A1R, A1S, B, BR, BS, C, CR, CS and a fixed-temperature mode. Heat/Smoke offers A1, A1R, A1S, B, BR and BS only.
For EN54-compliant operation use A1R, A1S, BR or BS; Heat and Heat/Sounder additionally support CR and CS. Fixed-temperature mode is not EN 54-5 compliant. The rated ambient operating range remains 0 to +50 °C.
Two sensors. A choice of response.
Only on Heat/Smoke
The combined model can use its heat and smoke sensors together or independently. The default combined mode adjusts the secondary sensor’s sensitivity as the primary sensor detects developing signs of fire.
- Combined detection: one sensor is primary and the second helps confirm the event.
- Heat and smoke: either sensor can trigger the alarm independently.
- Heat only: the optical smoke sensor is not used for detection.
- Smoke only: the heat sensor is not used for detection.
Select the detection strategy in the system design. Coincidence detection between separate detectors is a different, system-level function.
Include audible warning where it is specified.
Sounder versions only
Smoke/Sounder and Heat/Sounder include 32 selectable tones. Sounders connected to the same control panel synchronise their audible alarms. Run the alarm annunciation test to verify audibility in the actual premises.
Sound pressure depends on the selected tone and model; see the minimum and maximum levels measured at 1 m in the exact specifications. Smoke, Heat and Heat/Smoke require separately specified alarm sounders and VADs.
A supervised link to the fire panel.
Jeweller, built in
Two-way Jeweller radio carries commands, alarms and device states to the compatible fire panel. Encryption, authentication and frequency hopping protect the link without a separate radio module.
Up to 1,700 m is an open-space figure. Walls and the installation layout reduce usable range. EN54 Fire ReX can extend the route; survey each link at its final position. Alarm delivery and connection-loss timing depend on the system and its settings.
Replace the batteries. Keep the detector.

Two replaceable CR123A batteries
Both batteries are pre-installed. Battery covers allow replacement without opening the detector enclosure; low-battery notifications help plan the service visit.
Up to five years for Sounder versions and up to six years for Smoke, Heat and Heat/Smoke, according to the exact specifications. Battery life depends on polling, alarms and operating conditions. Replace both batteries when notified and retest.
Know which device needs attention.

Remote device states
The panel supervises communication, batteries, tamper and the sensors present in the selected detector. Events identify the device, room, fire zone and configured location.
A 36-second default polling interval is not a guaranteed fault-notification time. Check the commissioned Jeweller settings and notification routes.
Test the complete response.

A smoke test for smoke sensors
Smoke-equipped versions support suitable test aerosols and Solo 332 equipment in the system’s Zone test mode. Test outputs can include the chosen sounders, visual alarms, indicators and relays.
A smoke aerosol does not test a heat-only detector. Follow the exact model’s test procedure and the site’s maintenance plan. Do not remove the smoke chamber lid during routine installation.
Mount, assign and commission.

Add the exact device
Scan the QR code in an Ajax app, then assign a room, fire zone and clear location name. Use EN54 Fire Hub and the supported regional radio version.
These devices belong to the fire control system; they are not standalone domestic smoke alarms or accessories for an ordinary intrusion hub.
