Wireless IR motion and glass break detector with a microphone

Standards and certifications
CombiProtect Jeweller · CP.Y.J. Manufacturer-listed marks; regional and installation conditions apply.
CombiProtect Jeweller combines movement detection with a microphone that recognises breaking glass. It helps protect a room against both an intruder moving inside and an entry through a broken window. Sensor sensitivity and device tests can be managed in the Ajax app, so the detector can be adjusted to its surroundings.

Indoor motion detection reaches up to 12 m. Confirm coverage with a detection-zone test after installation.

The PIR sensor responds to changes in thermal radiation as a person crosses the detection area. Correct placement and a clear view are essential for reliable detection.

The electret microphone and DualTone algorithm look for a low-frequency impact followed by high-frequency shattering within 1.5 seconds. Adjust the glass sensor’s sensitivity in the app and test the real room.
Glass-break detection reaches up to 9 m across a 180° horizontal angle; the acoustic route and glazing must meet the installation requirements.

A preinstalled CR123A battery supports up to five years of operation under the specified conditions. Check its state and respond to low-battery notifications in the Ajax app.
Battery life depends on settings, use, temperature and radio conditions.
Jeweller provides two-way radio communication with a compatible Ajax hub or range extender. Encryption and device authentication help protect the exchange of alarms, commands and status.
Up to 1,200 m in open space. Check signal strength at the actual mounting point: walls, metal and other obstacles reduce usable range.

A compatible range extender can connect detectors beyond the hub’s effective radio coverage. ReX 2 can also use Ethernet as an alternative path back to the hub.
Range extenders are optional; supported models and quantities depend on the exact hub.

The detector sends its condition to the hub. Battery, tamper and communication states help identify a device that needs attention, while its room and name make notifications easier to interpret.
Connection-loss timing depends on configured polling. Professional monitoring is a separate service.

The tamper reports attempts to detach the detector from its mounting panel. Secure the panel correctly and test the event after installation.

Encryption helps protect stored and transmitted system data. Manage access to the system and its notifications through the Ajax app permissions.

During communication, the hub checks the detector’s identity. This helps reject commands from a device pretending to be the registered detector.

Regular exchanges with the hub reveal a missing device or communication fault. The configured polling interval determines how quickly connection loss is reported.

Scan the device QR code in the Ajax app, then give it a clear name and assign its room. Check compatibility and the radio-frequency region before pairing.
