Verify movement. Guard against interference.
Superior MotionProtect Plus G3 Fibra checks infrared motion with a K-band microwave sensor before reporting an alarm. Mirror optics monitor the room, while anti-masking and three tamper switches supervise attempts to interfere with the detector. Fibra provides a wired connection for power, events and remote configuration.

See the room and the approach below.

Up to 15 m of motion detection
The PIR sensor and mirror optics detect indoor movement at up to 15 m when installed at 2.4 m. The exact specification lists a reduced blind zone of 50 cm, helping detect a crawling person close to the device.
Detection depends on position and a clear view. Walk-test the actual intrusion path and nearby floor area after installation.
A second sensor verifies movement.

PIR detection, checked by K-band
The PIR sensor detects changes in infrared radiation; the microwave sensor verifies that movement is present. The combined decision helps filter thermal interference, such as air flows and heating effects, before the detector reports an alarm.
This is motion verification, not photo or video verification. The detector has no camera.
Filter thermal interference.

SmartDetect analyses the moving heat pattern
The algorithm assesses infrared intensity, the shape and size of a warm object, movement and time in the detection area. It helps distinguish a person from environmental thermal changes.
Cover the room, including the approach below.
Position the mirror optics across the entry path
Install indoors at 2.4 m, looking across the likely movement path. The mirror optics provide a 90° horizontal and 71° vertical field of view. Keep furniture, plants and glass outside the monitored view, then walk-test the full room.
Choose G3 with its detection priorities in mind
These detectors do not support pet immunity. Their reduced blind zone is intended to recognise movement close below the device, including a crawling person. Plan the protected area so animals cannot enter it while armed.
Do not apply the 20 kg / 50 cm pet-immunity limits of other MotionProtect models to these G3 devices.
Use in a suitable indoor environment
The operating range is −10 to +40 °C with humidity up to 75%. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and obstructions close to the optics. An IP30 enclosure is for indoor use; check detection again after changing the room layout.
Notice when someone blocks the view.

Keep anti-masking enabled and calibrated
The dedicated sensor detects attempts to obstruct or cover the optics, including material placed over the detector or paint on its window. With anti-masking enabled, this protection also operates while the system is disarmed.
Calibrate in the final mounting position with a clear field of view. Recalibrate after moving the detector or when the app reports a calibration fault, and test masking detection before handover.
Protect the mounting as well as the room.
Three tamper switches and a monitored lock
Two rear tamper switches supervise the mounting, while a third monitors the SmartBracket lock. Wall and side mounting depend on the correct fixing points and intact breakaway sections. Lock the detector in place and test removal events after installation.
A tamper alert identifies interference; it does not physically prevent damage. Confirm that the app and any monitoring service receive the event.
Check the detector as well as its connection.

Supervise the built-in sensors
Automatic self-tests check the PIR and masking sensors and the microwave sensor. Faults appear in the app, and a manual test is available during commissioning and maintenance.
A wired connection to the whole system.
Fibra carries power and events
A four-core Fibra cable connects the detector to a compatible wired Ajax hub. Two-way communication, encrypted data and device authentication help protect the connection. The detector has no camera and requires the hub to manage the system.
Up to 2,000 m on a beam with U/UTP cat.5 4 × 2 × 0.51 mm (24 AWG) copper cable, subject to the complete cable and load calculation. Check the selected hub, topology and firmware; a ring has different limits.
Plan the complete line load.
7–30 V DC from the Fibra line
The four-core line supplies the detector, with 24 V DC nominal operation. There is no replaceable detector battery; reserve operation depends on the hub and any powered modules in the route.
The current specification gives 4.3 mA quiescent and 11.6 mA maximum at 24 V DC. Use the exact model in the Fibra power calculator.
Connect the line. Calibrate the detector.

Wire through the removable terminal board
An accredited Ajax partner plans the cable route and switches off line power before wiring. The removable terminal board and built-in level support wall or side installation without dismantling the detector enclosure. Fit permanent fasteners and close the monitored SmartBracket lock.
