Superior CombiProtect Jeweller detects movement inside a room and recognises the sound of breaking glass. Its PIR sensor and microphone work with separate sensitivity settings and detection algorithms. A replaceable battery and encrypted Jeweller communication connect the detector to a compatible Ajax hub without a signal cable.

Distinguish movement from thermal interference.
SmartDetect evaluates the moving heat pattern
The PIR sensor and Fresnel lens provide a thermal pattern. SmartDetect evaluates its size, movement speed and infrared intensity to distinguish a person from sources of interference. It reduces unwanted alarms but does not replace careful positioning. Choose one of three motion-sensitivity levels; glass-break sensitivity is set separately. Test both sensors after adjustment.
Recognise the sequence of breaking glass.
Two sounds, one verified event
An electret microphone listens for a low-frequency impact followed by the high-frequency sound of falling glass within 1.5 seconds. DualTone checks that sequence before reporting glass breakage, helping reject unrelated noise. Choose one of three sensitivity levels and test the actual windows.
Detection range: 0.3–9 m with a 180° horizontal angle. The specified glass area starts at 400 × 400 mm; maximum range depends on glass type and High sensitivity. These detectors do not detect breaking glass covered by any film. Use an appropriate shock detector for film-covered glass.
Fit detection to the actual room.
Mount for movement across the room
Mount at 2.4 m with the lens facing across the likely path of entry. The specified motion range is up to 12 m with an 88.5° horizontal angle; check the detection zone after fixing.
For Superior CombiProtect Jeweller, the overview limits the motion range to 10 m under INCERT conditions.
Give the microphone a clear path
Position the microphone with an unobstructed sound path to the protected glass, at no more than 90° to the window. Curtains, partitions, fans, speakers and sirens can affect detection or cause interference.
Use indoors only, −10 to +40 °C and up to 75% humidity. Test from the real windows with the room furnished as it will be used.
Pet immunity depends on the installation
Correct installation and sensitivity settings can ignore pets up to 20 kg and 50 cm tall. Keep furniture that pets can climb out of the detector’s view; approaching the lens at human height changes the thermal pattern.
Pet immunity is conditional, not a guarantee for every room or animal. Verify the real movement paths after furnishing.
A secure radio link to your Ajax hub.
Jeweller carries alarms and events
Encrypted two-way Jeweller communication carries events and commands, with a stated range of up to 1,200 m in open space. Device authentication helps protect the connection. Walls, metal and interference reduce the usable distance.
Requires a compatible hub with OS Malevich 2.16 or later. Confirm the regional radio version and Jeweller support in the selected hub.

Extend coverage with a compatible ReX
A compatible range extender provides another radio path between the detector and hub. ReX 2 can use Ethernet for its own connection to a compatible hub when configured on the appropriate network; the detector itself remains wireless.
The number and type of supported extenders depend on the chosen hub. Test the detector-to-extender link as well as the extender-to-hub connection. An extender is separate equipment, not extra sensing range for the detector.
Plan for battery service.
Up to 5 years on one CR123A
The pre-installed replaceable lithium battery powers the detector. Low-battery notifications help arrange replacement before the device stops operating. Actual life depends on polling, events, radio conditions and use.
The stated duration is a calculated maximum. Confirm polling and event settings with the installer, and test the detector after replacing its battery.
Protection that also checks itself.
Report enclosure or mounting interference
Secure the specified mounting points and holding screw so the tamper can respond to enclosure opening or removal. Test the events after final fixing.
Hardware views above show the exact tamper arrangement; the number and position of switches depend on the model.
Notice a lost connection
The hub regularly exchanges data with the detector and reports a fault or lost connection with the device and room identified.
A 36-second detection example requires 12-second polling and three missed packets. Other settings change this time. Connection supervision does not guarantee uninterrupted alarm delivery.
Check the device identity
Encrypted communication and device authentication help protect event data and reject a substituted device. Professional monitoring, when required, is arranged with a monitoring provider.
These detectors have no camera. Photo or video verification needs separate compatible equipment.
Mount securely and test the actual room.
Secure SmartBracket and the holding screw
An accredited Ajax partner checks the location, fixes SmartBracket at the required points and fits the holding screw. Adhesive tape is only for temporary positioning and cannot provide the final tamper fixing.
