Wireless radio signal range extender

Standards and certifications
ReX Jeweller · RX.Y.J. Manufacturer-listed marks; regional and installation conditions apply.
Bring distant devices into the same system.
ReX Jeweller extends the radio route between an Ajax hub and assigned compatible devices. It helps cover another floor or a difficult part of the property while keeping configuration and events in the same app. This model carries Jeweller alarms and commands; it has no Ethernet or MotionCam photo-verification support.

- 1Obstacles reduce usable coverage. Test both radio paths.
- 2Requires the intended devices to be assigned to ReX. This is not an independent monitoring connection.
- 3ReX has no Wings. Compare ReX 2 for photo verification.
- 4European specification. Actual duration depends on operation and battery condition.
- 5−10°C to +40°C, IP20. Compatible alternative PSU sold separately.

A radio path to distant devices
ReX relays communication for assigned compatible Ajax devices, helping cover additional floors or detached areas where a direct hub link is weak.
Choose its location by testing both the hub link and connected devices. Buildings and obstacles determine usable coverage; a theoretical area is not a site guarantee.
A reliable link for alarms and events.

Jeweller radio communication
ReX passes alarms, events and commands between its assigned devices and the hub. The specified hub-to-extender radio distance is up to 1,800 m in open space.
ReX has no Ethernet channel and does not support MotionCam photo-verification detectors because it lacks Wings. Choose ReX 2 when photo verification is required.
Extend coverage within the hub’s limits.
One planned connection for each device
Assign devices in the ReX settings. A device uses one range extender at a time; this is not a roaming mesh network.
ReX connects directly to the hub and cannot be chained through another extender. The hub model determines extender and device limits; adding ReX does not increase the hub’s total device capacity.
A local response if the hub link is lost.
Connected devices remain a group
ReX keeps system information and can activate a connected siren when an assigned detector raises an alarm even if the link to the hub is interrupted.
This local response is not an independent cloud or monitoring connection. ReX still requires an Ajax hub for normal system operation.
Configured and maintained in the same app.

OS Malevich
ReX synchronises with the hub and supports operating-system updates. The app provides its connection, power and battery state, together with the assigned device list.
Updates depend on system conditions and compatible software. Check that hub and extender firmware are current before commissioning.
Backup for an interrupted mains supply.
A built-in rechargeable battery
The normal supply is 110–240 V AC. The built-in battery provides up to 35 hours after external power is lost under the stated conditions.
The European specification is used here; regional certified configurations can have different backup figures. A separately sold compatible 12 V PSU is available for alternative-power installations. Indoor use only: −10°C to +40°C, IP20.
Supervise the communication path.

Tamper, authentication and encryption
ReX reports tamper and connection events, and encrypted authenticated communication helps protect the relayed messages.
Communication-loss detection depends on configured polling. Investigate a missing extender because its assigned devices depend on that path.
Set up for the way the site works.

Connect
Scan the device QR code in the Ajax app, then assign a recognisable name and room. Check compatibility with the hub and any range extender before installation.
