MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller adds K-band microwave verification to PIR motion detection. This combination helps reject thermal interference in rooms affected by heaters, air conditioning or other changing heat sources. Sensitivity, installation and system events are managed through the same Ajax app.

Motion detection up to 12 m
The PIR sensor responds to a moving thermal pattern across the protected area. A Fresnel lens shapes that view, while the app offers three sensitivity levels.
Mount indoors at 2.4 m; horizontal detection angle is 88.5°. Place the likely intrusion path across the sensor’s view and test the actual room.
A second check for difficult environments.
K-band confirmation
After a PIR trigger, a 24 GHz microwave sensor checks movement. The combined decision helps reject thermal disturbances from air conditioning, heaters or similar sources.
Choose the site and sensitivity carefully. Dual detection reduces false triggers; it does not remove the need for a proper installation test.
Separate movement from thermal interference.
SmartDetect analysis
Software examines the size, speed and intensity of the thermal pattern before deciding whether to raise an alarm.
Make pet immunity part of the installation.
Up to 20 kg and 50 cm tall
Correct installation and configuration can prevent normal movement of pets within these limits from causing an alarm.

Replaceable batteries
One preinstalled CR123A battery provides up to five years under the stated conditions. Battery status is available in the same Ajax app.
Indoor use only: −10°C to +40°C, IP50 and IK04. Actual battery life depends on use, temperature, polling settings and signal quality.

Jeweller communication
Encrypted two-way communication carries commands, alarms and device status between the device and its compatible Ajax hub or assigned range extender.
Up to 1,200 m in open space. Walls, metal and other obstacles reduce usable coverage. Check signal strength at the installation position and use equipment for the same radio-frequency region.
Reach rooms beyond the direct radio link.
Plan the complete communication path
A compatible assigned range extender can connect a detector where the direct hub link is weak. Test the detector-to-extender path and the extender-to-hub path at their installed positions.
A range extender increases coverage, not the hub’s total device capacity. Ethernet on a supported extender is its connection to the hub; the detector itself stays wireless.
Protection that also watches itself.
Removal alerts
The tamper reports removal from the mounting panel. Secure the panel’s tamper fixing point and the holding screw, then test the removal event.
Connection and device status
Regular exchanges let the hub monitor the detector and report missing communication or a fault. Named events identify the device and room.
Connection-loss detection depends on the polling settings. Notifications require the configured system communication paths.
Authenticated communication
The hub authenticates the device during communication. Encryption protects exchanged commands and events against interception and spoofing.
