A narrow boundary inside the room.
MotionProtect Curtain Jeweller creates a narrow detection zone along a window, doorway or another vulnerable approach. This lets you protect a specific boundary while leaving the rest of the room outside that zone. Careful placement defines where movement should trigger an alarm and keeps everyday activity on the other side separate.

Optics that follow the boundary.
Two infrared sensors and a mirror
The optical system creates a narrow curtain of detection across a passage, window or other indoor boundary. People can use the room outside that zone while the protected line remains monitored.
The horizontal detection angle is 6°. This is an indoor detector, including when it protects an entrance from inside.
Respond when the boundary is crossed.
Movement across the curtain
The detector analyses movement in its narrow field and sends an alarm when the armed detection criteria are met. Test approaches at the near and far ends of the intended boundary.
Choose the right balance for the room.
Correlation signal processing
With this setting enabled, matching signals from both infrared sensors are required before an alarm. With it disabled, one sensor can trigger the alarm.
At 2.4 m mounting height, the technical specification gives up to 6–8 m with correlation enabled and up to 6–15 m with it disabled, depending on sensitivity. Confirm the real detection zone after setup.

Replaceable CR123A battery
The supplied battery supports up to three years of operation under the specified conditions. Battery state and low-battery warnings are shown in the Ajax app.
Battery life depends on polling, use, temperature and signal conditions. The indoor operating range is −10°C to +40°C.

Jeweller communication
Jeweller provides two-way radio communication with a compatible Ajax hub or range extender. Encryption and device authentication help protect the exchange of alarms, commands and status.
Up to 1,700 m in open space. Check signal strength at the actual mounting point: walls, metal and other obstacles reduce usable range.
Keep the detector under supervision.
Tamper and connection checks
The tamper reports removal from the mounting panel, and regular communication with the hub helps reveal a missing device. Device authentication and encryption protect the radio exchange.
Connection-loss detection depends on the system’s polling settings. Test tamper and communication states during commissioning.
