See what triggered an outdoor alarm.
MotionCam Outdoor Jeweller combines outdoor motion detection with a camera that takes photographs when an alarm occurs. The image series helps distinguish a genuine intrusion from an unexpected event around the property. Detection and visual verification work together through a compatible Ajax hub, giving you useful context before you respond.

Test detection, radio signal and photo framing
- 1Photo requests, schedules and scenarios require the separate PhOD version.
- 2When installed 0.8–1.3 m above ground and configured correctly.
- 3At 320 × 176 px under the manufacturer’s connection conditions. The 640 × 352 px setting takes longer.
- 4With entry delay disabled; up to 2.5 years with it enabled. Use, temperature, photo activity and radio conditions affect life.
- 5Walls, metal and other obstacles reduce actual radio coverage.

Event photographs provide visual verification; this detector is not a continuous live-video camera.

A confirmed motion alarm is followed by a series of photographs from the protected area. The evidence helps the user or monitoring operator understand the event before responding.
This model does not support photo requests, scenarios or schedules. Choose MotionCam Outdoor (PhOD) for those additional modes.
A view of the approach, day and night.

Camera and infrared illumination
The built-in camera captures the scene and uses infrared illumination in low light. Set resolution and the supported number of images for the information the site needs.
The specification lists 320 × 176 px and 640 × 352 px. Delivery depends on resolution and connectivity: up to 9 seconds at the default lower resolution and up to 20 seconds at the higher setting under the stated conditions.
Share alarm evidence with the right people.
Control viewing access
Use Ajax privacy settings to manage which users, installers or companies may view alarm photographs. Events and their associated photos are recorded in the app’s event feed.
The PhOD model is a separate choice. This page does not offer a remote photo-request control for standard MotionCam Outdoor.
Check movement before reporting a threat.

Compare two infrared signals
LISA compares the forms of the signals from the two PIR sensors. Consistent movement across both sensors helps identify an intrusion.
Frame the area you want to protect.
Set distance and installation height
Adjust detection distance from 3 to 15 m on the enclosure. Mount 0.8–1.3 m above the monitored ground with the lens axis parallel to it and the likely intrusion path crossing the view.
Correct placement supports pet immunity for animals up to 80 cm tall. The manual’s special 0.5 m crawling-intruder arrangement removes pet immunity and needs a separate site assessment.
Watch for attempts to disable the detector.

Masking, removal and lost connection
The anti-masking sensors detect obstruction of the view. The tamper reports removal and the hub monitors ongoing communication with the device.
Calibrate with the area clear, then test masking and tamper events. Connection-loss detection is governed by the system’s polling settings.
A hood for exposed locations.

Designed for outdoor conditions
The bundled hood protects the anti-masking sensors from rain and snow. The current technical specification rates the enclosure IP55 for operation from −25°C to +60°C.
Check the supplied device documentation against the installation’s environmental requirements.
Battery operation with maintenance alerts.
Four replaceable CR123A batteries
Preinstalled batteries power the detector without a mains cable. The technical specification gives up to three years with entry delay disabled, or up to 2.5 years with it enabled.
Photo use, frequent filtered triggers, temperature and radio conditions affect battery life. Check battery state and install the detector correctly to avoid unnecessary photo processing.
A secure link to your system.
Jeweller and Wings
Jeweller carries alarm events, commands and device status; Wings transports photographs. Both links need a compatible hub or photo-capable range extender.
Up to 1,700 m in open space. Check signal strength at the actual mounting point: walls, metal and other obstacles reduce usable range.
Install it for the place it protects.

Pair
Scan the device QR code in the Ajax app, then give it a clear name and assign its room. Check compatibility and the radio-frequency region before pairing.
